Sheltered accommodation

Coronavirus Update

Our blocks are currently closed to non-residents except for carers and other essential visitors. We are contacting all residents daily to check they are well and safe. We can respond only to urgent, emergency calls. The safety checks on the buildings are continuing to take place and we ask residents to adhere to social distancing principles if they encounter our staff during this time.

Sheltered housing tenants have their own self contained flats or studio apartments with their own kitchens and bathrooms. Tenants live independently in a safe and secure environment.

Why should I choose sheltered accommodation?

All schemes have:

  • secure door entrance systems
  • lifts serving all floors
  • communal gardens
  • resident parking spaces
  • resident access to a 24 hour emergency warden alarm service

Most schemes also have:

  • communal lounges for activities and social events
  • a laundry equipped with washers and driers
  • a guest room for the use of overnight visitors
  • a scheme manager to oversee the running of the scheme along with support for tenants

Where are the schemes in the High Peak?

  • Hartington Gardens, Hartington Road, Buxton
  • Milton Court, Broad Walk, Buxton
  • Marian Court, Sherwood Road, Buxton
  • Alma Square, Fairfield, Buxton
  • Queens Court, Queens Road, Fairfield, Buxton
  • Eccles Fold, Manchester Road, Chapel en-le Frith

How much rent will I have to pay?

Total charges range from around £98 per week for a studio apartment to approximately £125 for a 2 bedroom flat. The cost of the warden service is included in the rent.

If you are on a low income or certain types of benefits, you may get some help towards your rent. Go to to find out more.
