The Council has an MOT accredited testing station. It provides MOT testing for cars and other vehicles below 3.5 tonnes. It is also licensed to conduct taxi tests for taxis and private hire vehicles.
You need to MOT your car when it is three years old. You should receive a reminder letter from the DVLA. It then needs to be tested annually.
You need to give up to 48 hours notice for booking a test. However, if the garage have a spare appointment time they will do it more quickly for you.
If your car fails its test the garage can accommodate small repairs, but priority has to be given to the maintenance of the Council's vehicle fleet.
MOT Tests are £50.
