• Inland Revenue
  A wide range of information, including sections on starting up your own business and personal taxation, can be found on the HM Revenue and Customs website (external website**).

• Office of Fair Trading
  A comprehensive website (External website**) providing information for consumers and businesses on legal rights relating to commerce, including contracts and complaint procedures.

• The UK Patent Office
  The UK Patent Office (External website**) is responsible for intellectual property (copyright, design, patents and trademarks) in the UK, and allows you to search for the holders of patents, etc.

  Act as mentors to new enterprises and provide commercial expertise to the community.

• East Midlands Observatory (External website**)
  Provides access to a wide range of information and statistics at the regional, sub regional, district and ward level.

  Information on where to obtain business advice, potential funding sources, and regional business clusters including Motorsports, Food and Drink, Textiles, Healthcare, Creative Industries, and Aerospace.

Sub-regional

• Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce (External website**)
  A membership based organisation whose members can access discounted services, sources of business information including business databases, networking opportunities, and access to a grants database.

• Derby & Derbyshire Economic Partnership (DDEP) (External website**)
  Sub regional strategic partnership supporting projects that encourage business, create jobs, promote equality and help build strong and sustainable communities. Website contains a document library providing reports on the sub region.

Local

• Chapel Business Association

• Glossop Business Network

  Most businesses will require some sort of business insurance policy, depending on the nature of the business and its everyday activities.
