Doing Business with the Council

High Peak Borough Council spends about £10 million per year on goods and services. On this page you can find useful information and guidance about Council contracts and how to do business with the Council. Supplying the Council

The Council has produced a guide to assist suppliers and contractors, who wish to supply the Council with goods, materials, services or works. This document is currently under review and will be available shortly.

Current Tender Opportunities

The Council obtains quotation requests (RFQs) and places contracts for a wide range of goods and services. Some of these contracts will be for one-off requirements, while others will be for recurring contracts.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and High Peak Borough Council are in a Joint Alliance Partnership and share contracts wherever possible.

Procurement opportunities across both Authorities are advertised below as either a tender (value above £25,000) or a quote (value below £25,000). Information on how to return your submission is provided in the questionnaire document for each tender/quote. You are recommended to check the website before returning a quote or tender in case there have been changes. Any changes will be made clear.

Winning the Contract

Winning the Contract (External website**) is a free online public procurement course designed to help smaller firms bid for the £220 billion of public sector contracts awarded each year has been launched. The course, 'Winning the Contract', shows participants how to identify business opportunities to supply goods and services to the public sector, explains the public procurement process, and demonstrates how to submit tenders. It has helpful hints and tips to guide and inform businesses on the bidding process, and where to find public sector contract opportunities.

Olympic Games Opportunities

Businesses in the High Peak are being encouraged to find out how they could benefit from contracts related to the London 2012 Games. With less than 1,000 days to go to the Games, the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has announced that it is spending £1.7 billion, which will result in 25,000 supply chain opportunities for businesses.

Companies need to register their details here (External website**) to see what opportunities are available, and then publish their profiles so that they can be matched with opportunities.

Government Procurement Portals

Businesses interested in supplying the public sector can now access lower value contracts across the UK for free.

New government contract opportunities can be found on the new Contracts Finder system, accessible from the Business Link website (External website**).
