The DPD is set to be withdrawn, with the responses from the Issues and Options paper now due to feed into the development of the Core Strategy

Whitfield Recreation Area

Extensive consultation with the local community of Whitfield, including on line consultation, was undertaken to establish the communities views on the installation of a ballcourt on Whitfield Recreation Area. The results showed that there was overwhelming support for a facility of this type and this was supported by local ward members. The Pride of Whitfield community group, with the support of a number of agencies, are continuing to raise funds towards the cost of this.

Hadfield Skate Park

An on-line consultation was undertaken with local residents in November regarding the proposed location of the skatepark. The results showed that Newshaw Lane was the preferred site and this is supported by local ward members. Further consultation with the local community will be undertaken in the near future.
