High Peak Borough Council is carrying out this consultation after BT has informed us (467KB)
of its proposal to remove a payphone from High Street East, Glossop.
High Peak Borough Council, will make the final decision on whether the kiosk stays or goes. The council's draft decision is that BT should keep the telephone box and repair it. This decision is based on the fact that the telephone was used more than 1,400 times in the year to May, including five emergency calls.
It also occupies an important spot at the end of the Snake Pass and opposite a busy public park.
An initial, one-month consultation conducted by the council in May informed the draft decision, on which further views are now sought.
It is our responsibility, as your Council, to get your views, as our local residents and parish councils, and to consider these before we respond to BT.

Please make sure you send your views to reach us before 12pm on Friday 14 August.
Thank you!
