High Peak Borough Council and Derby University are committed to providing the best leisure facilities possible for the people of Buxton and the High Peak along with visitors to the area. We are currently looking at the feasibility of establishing a Leisure Centre in Buxton that will meet the needs of local people as well as students and staff who attend the University. The Council want to look at replacing the existing swimming pool and developing a fitness suite. The University want an indoor sports and fitness suite to replace their current leisure facility in Harpur Hill.
The Council and University are keen to find out the views of local people and the type of leisure facilities they would like to see in the town.
We have set up a consultation process, which outlines the choices people can make but will allow them to prioritise which leisure facilities they would like to see available.
Once the selection of leisure facilities is established, the Council and University can see whether these choices can be accommodated in the sites that we are currently reviewing as possibilities.
Please select a mixture of the items below, but remember, the total points score can not exceed "200".
Please note: the number of points allocated to each leisure item relates to the cost. For example, the higher the points the more expensive it is – the lower the points, the cheaper it is.
* The cost of the reception area, car parking, external works, staff room, first aid facility and drainage works have been accounted for already.
