Public Consultation

Where a decision is likely to affect individuals, businesses or organisations, the Council seeks their views before taking the decision. Where the decision is likely to have an impact on the general public, a special consultation process is held to gather the views of the community. The consultation may take the form of a questionnaire, public meetings, exhibitions, posters or all of these, depending on the issue.

We regularly carry out consultation exercises before taking decisions on Council services and strategies. A direct feedback form is included in each consultation, and you can download the issues papers if you wish.

The Healthy Buxton Project.

This project is about looking at the way health services are delivered in the Buxton area and identifying ways in which we can make them better. This could be used to improve the way services are delivered, but also improve the buildings that the services are delivered from.

Currently the project is in the consultation stage. We have already asked you what you think of the current services in Buxton and how we can improve them.

In spring 2009 we will be doing a full public consultation on the options available for making changes.

Next autumn we hope to have identified the best option and will ask you what you think of that option before we start to make changes.
