I am a teacher at a Glossop primary school. I have lived in Glossop for more than 25 years, the last ten in Whitfield. Although not a true local, I feel very attached to the town and became a councillor to try and make it an even better place to live in. I was first elected to the Borough Council in 1995 and was re-elected in May 2007.
I am very interested in the built environment and the countryside. Glossop faces many challenges, such as traffic congestion and a lack of affordable homes, and I am keen to play a part in finding solutions. Whitfield is a neglected ward and I want to work with residents to improve its environment and facilities.
I serve on the Environment and Regeneration Select Committees.
