SMS Texting

This new mobile text service allows you to send a text message while you are out and about with your mobile phone, ensuring that you can contact High Peak Borough Council from any location for general enquiries and help to keep us informed about local issues.

How do I text?

Step 1

Save the number 07800 00 22 62 to your phone (see your mobile phone instructions on how to do this).

This is important as you never know when you will need to contact us. If you notice an area that is in need of attention, simply send us a text message.

Step 2

Please be as descriptive as possible in your message.

Example 1: Can I book a place on the rail walk scheme?

Example 2: Benches at Manor Park vandalised

Example 3: When is Glossop Leisure Centre open?

Example 4: Graffiti at the back of Buxton library

Example 5: Where can I get a B-line student card?

Example 6: Rubbish bin outside Glossop Municipal Buildings not collected

Step 3

Send to 07800 00 22 62. Your message will go directly to the Customer Services team who will arrange for appropriate action to be taken. A text message will be sent to your mobile to let you know what this action will be.

How much will my text message cost to send?

The cost of sending a text message is dependent on the mobile phone tariff you use. Please refer to your mobile network service provider for details of charges. High Peak Borough Council does not make any additional charge.

Can I send pictures taken with my mobile phone?

No. Only text messages can be sent to our Customer Services team.

What if I don't have a mobile phone?

You can ring our Customer Services on 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400 which now has extended opening hours from 8am until 8pm to help us improve accessibility to Council Services.
