
The Indices of Multiple Deprivation is an important tool for identifying the most disadvantaged areas within our Planning region.
The most recent Indices of Deprivation (ID2004) provides a robust, up to date set of information with which we can address the gap evident between the most deprived and least deprived areas in High Peak.
People may be counted as deprived in one or more of the domains (see below) depending on the number of types of deprivation that they experience.
The ID 2004 contains seven Domains of deprivation:
The maps below represent how High Peak performs in the Index of Multiple Deprivation in the Northern (Glossop and surrounding area), Central (New Mills, Chapel en le Frith and surrounding area), and Southern (Buxton and surrounding area) regions of the Planning area.
