THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES (REFERENDUMS) (PETITIONS AND DIRECTIONS) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2000
Regulations 4(2) and 5
I, Rosemary Vivien Stafford, the Electoral Registration Officer for the High Peak Borough and Proper Officer for the purposes of the above Regulations, hereby publish the number which amounts to 5% of local government electors as shown in the electoral register having effect for the Borough for the period beginning on 15 February 2008.
That number is 3568.
I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE THAT:
this number (the ‘verification number’) will be used to validate any petition for a referendum for either of the Mayoral models for local government, which is presented after 31 March 2008 and before 1 April 2009.
This verification number will be published annually. If it is lower than the verification number for the previous year, then this lower number will be used for verifying petitions received after the publication date and before 1 April 2009.
