The Mayor is the first citizen and Civic Head of the Borough, and Chair of the Council. The Mayor is currently Councillor Robin Baldry.
The Mayor represents the borough on several Civic Functions each year, including the Mayor's Civic Reception, the Civic Service and the Remembrance Services. The Mayor is elected annually on a points system. This system ensures that Mayors are elected from all political parties on the Council. Through a committee that is not part of the council, the Mayor raises money for charity. In the Mayor's absence, the Deputy Mayor carries out the duties.
Any request for the Mayor to attend a function can be made to us in writing or online. The Mayor’s engagements are published here each month and copies are available by request from us.
