Once a decision has been taken by the Executive, there is a 4-8 working day delay before it is implemented, to allow Councillors who sit on the Select Committees to 'call it in' for further scrutiny if they feel it's necessary.
A decision notice for each decision is published within five days of the decision being made. This notice is open for public inspection at Council offices.
The law and the Council's constitution provide for urgent key decisions to be made. These, simply because they are urgent, will not appear on the Forward Plan. However, a decision notice is published for these in exactly the same way.
All decision notices will be posted at this page and remain for four months following the decision date. This system came in on 1 June 2002.
