This unique outdoor heated swimming pool, which is owned and managed by Hathersage Parish Council, is set in a lawned enclosure with a covered veranda to one side.
It gives users the opportunity to swim in the open air, amidst the glorious Peak District scenery and in beautiful warm water, which is heated to 84°F / 29°C. Regular users take advantage of the uniquely warm water and swim throughout the season from 29 March to 20 September 2008.
Our newly refurbished changing cubicles and hot showers will add to this pleasurable experience. We look forward to welcoming you to Hathersage pool this season.

Children must be supervised, past the admission barrier, at all times, by a responsible adult. Children must not be allowed to run about on the side of the pool.
All children, under the age of eight years, must be accompanied into the swimming pool and changing areas by a responsible adult. The responsible person must go into the water with the children they are accompanying and should maintain a close watch over them at all times. They should be in close contact with those of their children, who are weak swimmers or non-swimmers (who should wear armbands or suitable buoyancy aids) and remain in the shallow end.
Parents are asked to ensure that their children wear aqua nappies, where appropriate. These are available in the office.
Children aged under 4 years: 1 child to 1 responsible adult.
Children aged 4-7 years: 2 children to 1 responsible adult.
8+ weak/non-swimmer 2 children to 1 responsible person.
8+ competent swimmer*: unsupervised
*must be able to swim 33 metres. Lifeguards will need proof of a

We will be offering swimming lessons with qualified instructors for children and adults. Booking is essential and payment must be made at the time of booking – no refunds are given.

In addition, there will be four-day courses during school holidays. Lessons for one or two children or adults to one instructor will also be available.
We run Aqua Fun sessions with a variety of floats and pool toys, as well as occasional scuba sessions and other fitness activities, such as Aquarobics. Please refer to the Pool notice board.

We serve food, drink, ice cream and sweets from 8am until the pool closes. Eat directly at the poolside, inside in the café or outside on our large patio area. Our menu includes homemade meals, soups and cakes, with healthy and vegetarian options. We have a full takeaway service which includes freshly battered fish and chips.
Part of the pool will be used for lane swimming each week day morning, from 7.30am to 8.30am, and each evening for the last hour of the public session.
Please note: On busy days, season ticket holders will be required to clear the pool and surrounding areas at the end of season ticket sessions to enable public sessions to take place. Customers should note that the Sunday morning session will not operate on weeks when we have events, such as the Hathersage Triathlon at the pool. Please be aware that, on busy days, there may be queues for admission to public sessions. If the session is full, further customers can be admitted only as others leave.
