The Council’s Parks Section provides space in several of its Parks and Open Spaces for external organisations to put events. We can also offer advise on safety and other issues relating to an event.
The following Parks and Open Spaces have premises licenses (a separate license would be required for the sale of alcohol) and are available for hire:
Manor Park, Glossop
Facilities: Free parking, toilets, and electrical supply
Norfolk Square, Glossop
Facilities: Town centre location and electrical supply
Fairfield Common, Buxton
Facilities: Adjacent to a main road
The Slopes/Crescent, Buxton
Facilities: Town centre location and electrical supply
Pavilion Gardens, Buxton
Facilities: Parking, toilets and electrical supply
Other locations may be available on request.
Hire fees are not usually charged for charity or community events although the Council will have to cover its costs if you require additional facilities or assistance on the day. Commercial events will normally have to pay a hire fee. The fee will depend on the facilities required, and the market rate for similar events in this area.
All applicants would normally be expected to fill in an Application Pack and to provide proof of adequate public liability insurance, risk assessments etc.
- Following any accident at the event, this should be completed for each person injured and a copy sent to the Council. - To be completed, signed and returned to the Council - To be completed and returned to the Council - A risk assessment form must be completed for each event. This must be completed and a copy sent to us with the application form. - You must ensure that your event will comply with all the terms and conditions, where applicable. Please sign and return one copy of the terms and conditions with your application form and retain the other for your own reference.Applicants will be contacted on receipt of their application and an officer may request a site meeting to discuss the proposed event and the applicant’s needs. All bookings are subject to availability and the suitability of the proposed event. Bookings are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
