Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile

in Buxton and Glossop

Nearly 500 people braved the cold and windy Sunday to run the Buxton and Glossop Sport Relief Mile.

As people arrived at the starting line, organisers from the Cultural Services team gave them a quick warm up and set them off in smaller waves, because of the unsettled weather.

Many gifts have been donated for raffle prizes, including a giant teddy bear, bags of coffee, a bottle of wine, Easter eggs and pedometers - thanks to Renny Mulhern, Stockport County Football Club, Thorntons chocolate, Iceland, Superdrug and Thisbo.

All the money raised will go to the Comic Relief charity.
