2517 (Buxton) Squadron of the Air Training Corps

The Air Training Corps is open to young people aged between 13 and 22 years. The ATC is an ideal organisation for anyone interested in aviation or in joining the Royal Air Force.

Light aircraft Gliding

Air cadets enjoy a huge range of activities, including flying, gliding, many sports, adventure and leadership training. The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme is actively supported.

Flying and gliding is arranged for several weekends each year. Annual camps hosted at RAF stations provide a full week of exciting activities. Throughout the year, a full calendar of competitions, courses and visits is organised.

If you are looking for a Service career, ATC membership will help give you a head start.

Former cadets do better in basic training and stay in the Service longer than their colleagues who did not have the benefit of cadet membership.

You can find out more by visiting our website (External website**) or visit the ATC central website (External website**).

Visit us any Monday or Wednesday, between 7pm and 9.30pm at the Drill Hall on Silverlands, in Buxton (next to the police station).
