Buxton Sub Aqua Club, formed in 1977, is a member of the British Sub Aqua Club – BSAC number 0940 – and has a healthy membership. Our fees are quite reasonable, including club subscriptions, pool fees and kit hire.
We meet every Wednesday at Buxton Pool. Arrive around 7.30pm for a warm and friendly welcome. Pool sessions start at 8pm, lasting just under an hour – then join us in the local hostelry.
Find out about our free Try Dives (external website**) – or talk to us about training (external website**) or other diving requirements:
You must be aged 14 or over, physically fit and able to swim 50 metres.
Club dives are organised once a month. We go to Capernwray (external website**), The Rez (external website**), Stoney Cove (external website**); mainly for training purposes.
Longer trips are also run to the Nefyn Peninsula in North Wales, St Abbs in Scotland and Poole in Dorset. At Easter 2007, we visited Egypt. We have our own rigid inflatable boat (RIB), The Typanic. We also organise visits to a hyperbaric chamber.
