Riding on the quest of a wave!

The High Peak Sports Development Team has been highly commended by Quest - the Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure. Quest defines industry standards and good practice, and encourages the improvement of the services provided to customers.

The High Peak team, which scored 78% - the highest score of all councils evaluated in Derbyshire - were assessed in areas such as: management technique, strategy, health and safety and working with partners. The evaluation was based on an initial self-assessment and a follow-up external assessment by Quest in December.

Team members received the news that they had been highly commended for providing a quality service and were awarded with the Quest plaque.

High Peak residents benefit from the accreditation because it confirms the council's commitment to continual improvement in the sports development service. It also demonstrates that the team are providing best value for customers.

Councillor John Pritchard, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Community and Social Development, said: "This is another indication of the excellent service offered by High Peak Borough Council. We are committed to creating a healthy environment in the High Peak and sports development features highly in our aspirations. We aim to make sports and recreation accessible to all our residents."
