High Peak Sports Development is committed to providing a safe, responsive high quality service for everyone in the borough.
Staff
Our staff will:
- Treat you respectfully.
- Be welcoming, courteous and helpful at all times.
- Wear clothing that displays the Sports Development logo and name badges.
- Be qualified in their area of work and be encouraged to develop their skills and competencies.
Offer a range of sports opportunities
We will:
- Encourage all members of the community to adopt an active lifestyle.
- Encourage children and adults to achieve their personal goals at whatever level in their chosen sport.
- Provide a foundation programme for primary schools, nursery and pre-school children that help develops basic skills and a positive attitude to physical activities and sport.
- Provide services that are accessible to all sections of the community.
- Provide more affordable sporting activities where price is a barrier.
- Deliver a broad range of sports competitions and community sports events.
- Publicise events, coaching courses and competitions.
Coaching
We will:
- Increase the number of qualified coaches by expanding the Coach Education programmes for teachers, playworkers and volunteers.
- Provide an annual coaching programme in a variety of team and individual sports.
- Encourage and support athletes to reach their full potential.
- Encourage qualified coaches to further improve and update their professional qualifications.
- Require all coaches to attend Council approved training in Child Protection, Sports Equity and Work with Disabled people and Work with Children.
Health and Safety
We will ensure that:
- All coaches and instructors hold relevant coaching qualifications.
- All staff and volunteers are regularly police checked.
- All staff are encouraged to gain a current First Aid certificate.
- Staff conduct a safety check when using venues for events and competitions.
- Staff conduct regular inspections of equipment used in activity programmes, coaching sessions, events and competitions.
Working with other partners
We will:
- Work with staff in other projects, clubs and organisations at local and national level.
- Encourage and support the establishment of voluntary sports clubs by providing funding information and expertise.
Consulting with customers
We will:
- Regularly consult with our customers to identify their requirements and needs.
- Regularly survey our customers to find out what you they think about the standard of our services and facilities.
- Remind you to use the Monitoring Forms at the end of an activity.
- Respond to you personally if you have suggestions for new activities.
If you are dissatisfied with our service
- Speak to the member of staff.
- We will respond to your correspondence within 3 working days of receipt of your letter and make a full reply within 2 weeks.
- If you are unhappy with the response, you may find the Customer Comment form more convenient to use.
