We manage and maintain public car parks in all of the Borough's main towns, and also in the Hope Valley.
We also manage on-street car parking schemes in Castleton and Buxton on behalf of Derbyshire County Council.
There are also several other car parks in the Borough not operated by us. The majority of the 26 car parks are pay and display car parks. There are 120 disabled parking spaces.
All tickets purchased at any High Peak Borough Council car park are transferable between all High Peak Borough Council car parks. Please note that this does not apply to other car parks in the Borough operated by other organisations. The charges for each pay and display car park are published on the ticket machines.
Regular users of our car parks may be interested in purchasing a Standard Season Ticket. The current charges are outlined below:

All households in the Borough have been issued with a Residents Concessionary Parking Permit. Valid until 31 March 2010 the permit allows each household to park one vehicle free of charge at any of our car parks before 10am and after 4pm every day Monday-Saturday and all day on Sundays. The exclusion of Spring Gardens car park ended with effect from the 1st May 2009.
Civil Parking Enforcement powers were transferred from the Police to Derbyshire County Council, with effect from Thursday 19 February 2009.
Further information relating to the new scheme can be found at www.parksmarter.org.uk (external website**) or call 01629 585672.
If you don't display a valid car parking ticket or park your vehicle within a marked space, you will receive a Penalty Charge Notice, which will be secured to the front window of your vehicle. Payment conditions are shown on this notice - a reduced charge applies if payment is made within 14 days. Payments can be made as shown on the rear of the Penalty Charge Notice or via the website, www.parksmarter.org.uk (external website**).
Coach parking bays are provided at the car parks in Castleton and Edale, and in Buxton at Sylvan Car Park and along Burlington Road.
We are working closely with the Derbyshire Constabulary, Peak District National Park Authority, the National Trust and neighbouring local authorities to develop and implement the Safer Parking Scheme programme, which aims to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour in and around our car parks.
