Fly-tipping concerns the collection of materials that have been dumped without permission on the highway or land under the control or ownership of the Council. In these circumstances we will remove the rubbish.
Fly-tipping is dangerous and costs you money to clear up. If you spot fly tipping anywhere in the High Peak, let us know and we'll investigate. If you can give us details - for instance, the registration of the vehicle involved - this will help us to clamp down on fly tipping.
You can report fly-tipping to Environmental Services on 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400 or, alternatively, complete the form below.
Any information you give us will be treated in the strictest confidence.
If private land has had rubbish dumped on it, the Environmental Health Service may be able to use certain legal powers to require the owner or occupier of the land, or in some cases the person responsible for the tipping, to remove the rubbish. Failure to remove the rubbish can result in enforcement action by us to carry out any necessary work and recharge the costs to the appropriate person.
