Keeping the High Peak Clean!’ campaign

High Peak Borough Council has launched a borough-wide campaign entitled ‘Keeping the High Peak Clean!’

Every year High Peak spends a staggering £1 million on keeping the streets of the Borough clean.

The 3-month campaign will see the Council get tough on environmental crime, tackling issues such as litter and dog fouling.

The first leg of the campaign focused on litter after the Borough Council was given the go-ahead to take part in Keep Britain Tidy’s high-profile national campaign to combat litter during July.

Latest results show that there has been a 10 per cent decrease in the appearance of litter in known problem areas across High Peak.

In September and October, the Borough Council will once again join forces with Keep Britain Tidy when they roll out their national campaign on dog fouling: 'There's no such thing as the dog poo fairy'. Click here for further information.

The overall aim of the campaign is to reduce spending in this area. This will be achieved through a set of campaign objectives, developed in response to resident concerns about an increase in incidents of environmental crime. They are as follows:

Remember: ‘If you see it, report it!’ – for all incidents of litter, fly-tipping, dog fouling, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, fly-posting, noise nuisance, please ring 0845 129 77 77 or 01298 28400.
