Public Toilets

Public Toilets are located at the following places in the Borough. Except where stated, the toilets are open all day and night, all year round.

Many, though not all, of our toilets have facilities for people with disabilities. These also have Radar facilities giving access at all times for people with disabilities who hold Radar keys. RADAR keys can be purchased from the Council or from RADAR (Royal Association of Disability and Rehabilitation). They cost £3.00 to purchase. Derbyshire Gold Card holders (orange or purple) can get them at the reduced price of £1.50 on production of their Card.

Keys can be obtained from the Council offices at Chapel-en-le-Frith, the cash offices at Buxton Town Hall and Glossop Municipal Buildings, as well as Buxton Tourist Information Centre. They can also be posted out to customers on receipt of payment. Proof of disability is not required.

RADAR can be contacted at 12 City Forum, 250 City Road, London, EC1 V8AF, or by phoning 0207 250 3222.

All public toilets are cleaned regularly. The frequency varies from site to site, and depends upon the level of use. All public toilets are cleaned at least once each day, but frequencies are modified to suit peaks of demand, such as the holiday season.

Sadly, in spite of our best efforts, some of our toilets are occasionally damaged by grafitti or other vandalism. If you come across a toilet in a poor state, or are offended by anti-social behaviour in one of our toilets please let us know.

We will remove obscene grafitti promptly, and other grafitti as soon as possible. If repairs are needed, we will arrange for these to be carried out promptly.

The standards you can expect

We try to maintain the highest standards in our public toilets. We monitor:

We report on our performance in these and other areas in our Best Value Performance Plan every June and also publish our targets for improving our performance.
