The Derbyshire Handy Van Network is open to those who are 60 and over or are referred by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, the District or Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council Adult Social Services or Derbyshire Constabulary.
Derbyshire Handy Van Service (external website**)
You can phone and ask for the van to visit your home and help with the following:
The Service will also, with your permission, make referrals to our partners for additional services and support that may benefit you, for example Telecare Installations.
Each household will be able to access this free service twice a year.
The Service is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm
The Service can not offer an emergency service for plumbing or electrical problems. Please contact the appropriate organisations for your area.
