Allotment projects

Allotments are extremely popular and in parts of the High Peak such as Glossopdale, we have been working with local groups to find land to create more allotments. Three small sites in Glossop, Hadfield and Gamesley have recently received planning permission.

It is hoped that if lease agreements can be completed with the owners of land and the allotment groups, who would manage the sites, work will start soon on preparing the land in order to create up to up to 10 new allotments on each site.

If you would like to be considered for one of these allotments you should contact the following:

  • Glossop site (off St Mary's Road):  Contact Mark Alix, Glossopdale Action for Allotments on tel. 01457 851536.
  • Hadfield site (off Salisbury Street):  Contact Mrs Pat Bennett, Dig Hadfield, on tel. 01457 866 240.
  • Gamesley site (Roman Gardens): Contact Gamesley Resident's Association, 30 Winster Mews, Gamesley, Derbyshire.

If you would like further information about this project or allotments in general, please contact the council.
