The Council has produced various documents that provide general design guidance and guidance on particular sites and areas. These are listed below:
Residential Design
High Peak Borough Council is committed to achieving a high standard of design in all new residential development including affordable housing. This document provides a local contribution to the nationwide agenda for creating a change in the quality of new housing layout and design.
Designing out crime
This guide has been prepared by High Peak Borough Council, Derbyshire Constabulary and their partners to provide a practical guide on making new developments safer from the start. It builds on national advice and the established principles of secured by design but tailors them to the distinctive character of the High Peak.

A programme of heritage-led regeneration has been underway in Buxton for a number of years as it invests in its town and open spaces.

Landscape character
This Supplementary Planning Document provides guidance for the design of new developments and alterations to existing developments, including associated landscape design. It covers rural parts of High Peak Borough outside the Peak District National Park.
Station Road Design Framework, Buxton
The design framework sets out a vision for the study area as a vibrant and sustainable new quarter of Buxton. The overall aim is to arrive at an agreed design framework for the future development of the land around Station Road.
