Pay your council tax
Online
Pay your council tax online.
Paying by direct debit

You can pay by direct debit which is the easiest and most secure way of paying your council tax bill. As well as helping us to keep the council tax down you can be guaranteed that you will not miss a payment.
You have a choice of when you pay. The standard 10 monthly instalments are due on the 15th of the month (April to January inclusive), but with direct debit you can pay on the 1st, 15th or 30th of the month, whichever suits you best.
You can change your instructions whenever you wish. If at any time in the future you want to stop paying by direct debit, write to us and your bank to cancel your direct debit instruction.
Your council tax is due in monthly instalments. Please note that if you pay by monthly instalments you must make all payments on or before the due date, otherwise you may need to pay the full bill.
If you wish to pay by direct debit, please contact High Peak Borough Council by telephone and this can be set up on your account straight away, alternatively if you would like to complete a Council Tax Direct Debit mandate, please download and complete the form at the end of this page and return to High Peak Borough Council, PO Box 136, Buxton, SK17 1AQ.
Making cash payments
We provide a plastic swipe card for making payment at any Post Office or other outlet displaying the PayPoint sign. Please contact us and we will arrange for a swipe card to be issued to you. Cash cannot be accepted at council offices.
If you are a council tenant, you will automatically be sent a swipe card to pay your rent. Anyone wanting a swipe card for any other payment will need to apply for one.
