Grants

Renovation Grants

The Council no longer provide traditional renovation grant assistance. Our care and repair function (for the elderly, the disabled and those on low income) is operated by an independent Home Improvement Agency. Whilst there may occasionally be some limited grant funding available, The Home Improvement Agency will be able to talk to eligible applicants about other means of realising funding to pay for essential repair works.

Disabled Facilities Grants

Where the enquiry is in connection with assistance towards the provision of disabled facilities, grants for this type of work are administered by the County Council. You will need to contact the Occupational Therapists in the Social Services Department for an initial assessment.

Energy Efficiency

You may also be able to obtain assistance towards works involving energy efficiency, such as insulation and central heating installation. The availability of assistance for such works can be discussed with the Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre on 0800 512 012.

Accreditation Grants

The main purpose of the Accreditation Grant is to assist landlords who are members of our registered Landlord Accreditation Scheme to bring their properties up to an improved standard.  Subject to certain qualifying criteria, grants of up to £2,000 are available for works to improve energy efficiency, security and fire safety.
