Hairdresser notification
There is not currently a legal requirement to register a hairdressing business although we would be grateful if you could supply us with your details so an officer from the council can contact you in relation to health and safety issues to ensure your business is complying with local health and safety rules.
You will be required to have a copy of the byelaws produced by the council displayed in your premises.

Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974
The Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974 is the key act which will affect all commercial concerns, whether self-employed or an employee, and whether mobile or based at a Salon. Under this Act a number of Regulations have been made. The more relevant of these include:

Eg. about noise, pollution, etc. Also should one licence holder complain about another. Please contact the council in the first instance.
