Pay your business rates
Please note all payments must reach your account on or before the due date.
There are various methods of payment as follows:
The only true cost effective and convenient method of payment is Direct Debit.
With Direct Debit you are guaranteed an immediate refund in the unlikely event of an error ever occurring.
You are free to cancel your instruction at any time.
You can pay at a later date, each month, than by other methods. From 1st April 2014 the dates available will be as follows: 1st, 15th or 30th payable over 10 or 12 instalments. Furthermore, paying by Direct Debit reduces the Councils costs and the savings can be passed on in the form of better services.
Direct Debit is convenient because you do not need to remember to pay your instalments each month, we do that.
You will be informed of any changes to the instalments at least 14 days before the revised instalment is due.

Payment can be made via an automated 24 hour payment line - please ring 0345 129 8117 and follow the instructions given.
(When you pay by phone or internet, you will need your Account Reference number from your bill. Also ensure that you note your unique authorisation number at the end of your transaction as proof of your payment).
Please ring 0345 129 4858 to make payments via Switch or Delta.
You can pay IN FULL via Access, Visa, Mastercard or Eurocard by ringing 0345 129 4858. Please note that the use of Credit Cards is only permitted where full account balances are being made. From 1 April 2010, there is a charge of £2.50 for each payment by Credit Card.
At the bank
Payments can be made at branches of the NatWest Bank in the High Peak. You will need to use their paying-in slips. From 1 April 2010, NatWest will charge £10.00 for each payment.
Payment by post
Cheques should be made payable to “High Peak Borough Council” and posted to: High Peak Borough Council, PO Box 136, Buxton, SK17 1AQ. Please write your account reference number on the back of your cheque. Post-dated cheques cannot be accepted.
We provide a plastic swipe card for making payment at any Post Office or other outlet displaying the PayPoint sign. If you require a card, please ring 0345 129 77 77 and we will arrange to send you one. Cash cannot be accepted at council offices.
