Where should I leave my bulky items and when will they be collected?
Items should be left at the front of the property on the same day as your scheduled black bin collection and left with the black bin. Please note we are unable to enter your property to collect items.
If your property has a communal collection point, bulky items should be left outside your property, at the front for easy access.
The cut-off time for arranging these types of collections is 3.30pm on the day before your scheduled black bin collection. Please Note if your collection is on Monday all requests must be received by 3.30pm on friday.
If you can’t physically move your bulky items because you are disabled, please contact Social Service at Derbyshire County Council who should be able to help you.
Can I donate my furniture if still fit for use?
The Glossopdale Furniture Project may be interested in collecting this for distribution to those in need. They collect from your home and there is no charge for this service. Collection may be arranged by telephoning 01457 857505.
How do I arrange a skip?
The council no longer provides a skip service but the Yellow Pages can provide you with details of private contractors who provide this service locally.
Please remember that if the skip is to be placed on a road, verge, highway or footway a permit is required from Derbyshire County Council.
