Sports club advice
We work closely with partners including National Governing Bodies of Sport to support clubs to develop, promote themselves, and attract people to take part in a range of sports and physical activity opportunities.
We support clubs through our local Sports Focus Groups and Sports Forums, currently the following sports have focus groups in the area that provide a platform to engage with local sports development professionals as well as the individual Governing Bodies:
- Gymnastics, Trampolining and Cheerleading
If your club is interested in working with other clubs in the area, getting advice on funding or development planning, working in partnership on promoting your sport, or help with club affiliation please contact Chris Nightingale at email@example.com who can provide information on where support can be offered.
Focus groups offer a chance for us to engage with clubs and although we can offer support to individual clubs on larger scale projects such as developing new facilities, focus groups present a way of supporting clubs focused on individual sports.
We also support clubs in the Glossop area through the Glossop Sports Forum led by the Sports Development Officer based at St Philip Howard Sports College.
The Derbyshire Sports website provides club support and advice on:
- Setting up a sports club
- Promoting your club
- Club affiliation
- National Governing Bodies of Sport
- Developing volunteers
Want to find a club or promote your club?
You can search for a sports club on the Derbyshire Sport website which allows you to search for sports club by location or preferred sport. We encourage all clubs we have contact with to register with the club database managed by Derbyshire Sport providing a one stop shop for people to find clubs but also provide clubs with an opportunity to promote themselves.
