Spring by-election on cards for Buxton

COUNCIL officials are gearing up for the possibility of a by-election in Buxton Central ward on Thursday, March 29.

High Peak Borough Council published Notice of Election on Thursday (February 23) to start the process of filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of borough councillor Philip Ashmore.

Nomination papers are available from Municipal Buildings, Glossop and must be received in completed form by the Returning Officer at the same address by 12 noon on Friday (March 2).

If more than one nomination is received, an election will take place.

Polling would take place between 7am and 10pm in St. Anne’s Parish Centre, Hardwick Square West, Buxton.
