FAMILIES enjoying High Peak leisure venues during the summer holidays can rest assured that they are in safe hands.

For Buxton Swimming and Fitness Centre, Glossop Leisure Centre, Glossop Swimming Pool and New Mills Leisure Centre have all earned coveted Quest Accreditation following a mystery shopper visit and rigorous assessment by an experienced leisure industry professional.

The award proves that the facilities, run by DC Leisure for High Peak Borough Council, uphold the highest standards for health and safety, child protection, lifeguarding and cleanliness.

Anthony McKeown, executive councillor for community services, explained: “Quest is similar to Ofsted for schools, and rates leisure centres and health clubs according to overall performance.

“I’m delighted but not at all surprised that our leisure venues have all achieved this prestigious standard, which will give parents complete peace of mind that we’re committed to safety and quality.

“As well as assuring parents that their children are in safe hands, Quest also proves that our leisure centres are continually improving their offer and services”, he added.
