Ready teddy go!
GLOSSOP’S best-dressed teddies will be vying for prizes as part of a feast of family fun on Sunday (June 17).
The children’s play area of Howard Park is the scenic setting for a free Fun Day running from 1pm to 3pm.
Staged by the Friends of Howard Park and High Peak Borough Council, the celebration will give youngsters a chance to learn circus skills, have their faces painted and take part in art and craft sessions.
But the highlight for many will be the judging of the best-dressed bears, to be carried out at 2.30pm – as long as the tots remember to bring along their bruins in their glad rags!
Said Friends chairman Gerard Riley: “We’re hoping this will be yet another great afternoon of fun entertainment in the park.
“We’re keen to organise activities throughout the year – including practical planting tasks and the annual carol concert – so come down to Howard Park and don’t forget to bring your teddy bear”, he urged.
His words were echoed by council leader Caitlin Bisknell: “I’ve no doubt that this eagerly-anticipated annual event will once again prove a big hit with children of all ages!”
