Improvements to Buxton Pool

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our facilities, we have recently undertaken major refurbishment work at Buxton Pool. The photographs on this page show details of the specific areas of improvement. In addition, we will be working in conjunction with our new management partners, DC Leisure, to further develop Buxton Pool in the near future. We welcome any comments or ideas to you may have, in relation to improving Buxton Pool.

We’ve removed the old reception kiosk and
replaced it with a new wood panelled surround.
The separating glass has been replaced, the
lighting improved, the interior decorated and
the retailing displays upgraded to provide
a more welcoming feature for our customers.

We’ve replastered and painted the side walls,
where the paint had been coming away
near to the ceiling.

The expansion joint around the pool side
floor tiles has been filled in with apoxy resin

We’ve cleaned the filters and removed the
old filter material. After which the inside of
the filters have been recounted and the
filters filled with new sand to improve pool
water filtration.

We’ve completed investigatory work into
the original drains in the female changing
rooms.
The drains have been thoroughly cleaned
out and the problem that was causing
a smell has now been rectified.
In addition the drain has been repaired to
ensure it functions effectively in the future.

Recent Consultation on the Future of Buxton's Indoor Leisure Facilities

High Peak Borough Council and the University of Derby, Buxton, are currently reviewing the future of their respective leisure facilities in Buxton. The Council is keen to take on an early consultation exercise to get local people's views on four options identified to date.
