Dove Holes

Dove Holes is a medium sized rural village, lying just outside of the Peak District National Park, with a population about 1,200 residents. Dove Holes has a historic henge locally known as 'the bull ring' although it has no remaining stones is of historic importance. Remains of Sabre Tooth Tigers found in Dove Holes are now housed in Buxton Museum. Dove Holes

The village, three miles from Buxton, in the High Peak, has several businesses including two public houses (one offering accommodation). The village is served by a church, a Methodist chapel, a community centre (Hallsteads, Dove Holes, SK17 8BJ) and a mobile library and a primary school. Dove Cat Rescue Sanctuary is based here.

Dove Holes is renowned for its annual 'International Jazz and Beer Festival' International Jazz and Beer Festival held each July and also hosts one of the largest community bonfire and firework events in the area. There is also an annual carnival
