Responsibility for health services in the High Peak is divided between the High Peak & Dales and Tameside & Glossop Primary Care Trusts. The High Peak Primary Care Trust covers the central and southern areas of the borough, including Buxton, and the Hope Valley. The Tameside & Glossop Primary Care Trust covers the town of Glossop.
High Peak residents mainly use the Tameside Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne, Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, or Macclesfield Hospital for most of their hospital services. Hope Valley residents use the Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and the Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Hospital.
