Glossop gym winners

Glossop Leisure Centre held the annual inter-club gymnastics competition on Sunday.

The competition included teams from Glossop Gymnastics Club, Longland Gymnastics Club in New Mills and St. Luke's Gymnastics Club.

Over 80 children, aged between 6 and 15 years old competed in floor-based, and vault work.

The winners of the competition for 6 to 7 year olds were: Marie Oldham (first), Victoria Power (second), and Josie Hamson (third). In the 8 to 9 year old category, Jasmin Stokes was first, Georgie Teakle-Knock came second, and Ellanor Tracey was third. The winner of the 10 to 11 year olds was Hayley Shore, Rosa Christie-Lowe was second and, Lorna Moss came third. Joint winners of the 12+ category were Sarah Garlick and Polly Hoggins, Jessica Tewson and Lorna Hibbert were second.

Councillor John Pritchard, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Community and Social Development, said: "I would like to thank all the judges and those that helped on the day. The day was a success, and was enjoyed by spectators and competitors alike."
