Ashwood Park: new play equipment, new location and new friends!

Members of the parks team at High Peak Borough Council are pleased to announce that new play equipment will be installed at Ashwood Park this August, and that a friends group will be starting.

The play equipment, chosen after consultations with park visitors earlier this year, will be a mixture of toddler and junior equipment for under 5 year olds and 5 to12 year olds.

It will be positioned at the front of the park, next to the old putting green - not at the Morrisons end of the park, which is where the old equipment was sited.

The installation work, which is being undertaken by Proludic, is scheduled to start at the beginning of August and is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete. Proludic have just installed the very successful play area at Manor Park in Glossop.

The parks team is also inviting the public to register their interest if they would like to join the Friends of Ashwood Park who will be holding an initial meeting in the autumn. The role of a Friend of Ashwood Park will be to:
