The second pilot farmers' market for Whaley Bridge will take place on Saturday 29 July from 10am till 4pm. With extra stalls including fruit and organic vegetables this market will be bigger and better than the first one.
Whaley Bridge Regeneration Partnership needs the support of local people to decide whether the market can continue and become a regular monthly event. Come along for fresh local produce, vegetables, fruit, meat and sausages, fresh eggs, cakes and jams.
The market will be inside and outside the Jodrell Arms next to Whaley Bridge station, so if you are coming from out of town support sustainable transport and help protect the environment by coming by train.
Councillor Alan Wells, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Economic Regeneration, said: "We will have more stalls this time for people to enjoy and we hope this second market will generate additional trade in Whaley Bridge.
He added: "This market is a pilot project and we would urge High Peak residents to come along on Saturday so that it may continue. We would also like to encourage local traders, to contact the Council if they are interested in selling their produce at the next farmers' market in Whaley Bridge and who would like to get involved."
A grant from the Peak District National Park New Environmental Economies is helping to fund the pilot farmers' markets.
