High Peak Borough Council wants everyone to know that this is their last chance to nominate their candidates for the 2007 Sports Awards.
The closing date for nominations is 17 August 2007.
The awards recognise and celebrate the sporting success of athletes and those involved in sport at all levels, who either live in High Peak or who attend clubs within the Borough.
The winners of the Borough awards will qualify for the Derbyshire Sports Awards.
Nominations can be made for the following categories:
· Junior Sportsman of the Year;
· Junior Sportswoman of the Year;
· Junior Disabled Sportsman of the Year;
· Junior Disabled Sportswoman of the Year;
· Sportsperson of the Year;
· Disabled Sportsperson of the Year;
· Veteran Sportsperson of the Year;
· Team of the Year;
· Club of the Year;
· Performance Coach of the Year;
· Community Coach of the Year;
· Young Sports Leader/Young Coach of the Year;
· Service to Sport Award; and
· Contribution to School Sport.
Nominations can be made by anyone involved in schools or sports organisations within the Borough and people can be nominated for more than one award. Self-nominations will also be accepted.
Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Community and Social Development, said: "Time is running out for you to make nominations for High Peak's sports achievers. There are many talented sportsmen and women up and down the Borough in a wide range of sports, please get your nominations in now. Let's make sure that we recognise all those who deserve to win!"
