There will be an afternoon of children's sport and activities at Manor Park on Wednesday 15 August - with an unseasonal element.
All young people are invited along to take part in the action, which includes ice-skating on a mobile ice-rink. Other activities available are: cricket, golf, skateboarding and football.
The event, which is free, will start at 12 noon and finish at 4 pm. There is no need to book.
Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Social and Community Development, said: "Well, I know that the weather has been bad, but you have to admit that ice-skating in August - even in High Peak - is a bit unexpected!
He added: "This is the latest event in a series of activities arranged by the council for young people in the summer holidays. We are committed to supporting young people and providing activities for them, so I hope that this event is well attended. Let's hope for good weather!"
