Festive week waste and recycling schedules

Date: 06/12/2007

Refuse Collection

The green-lidded bin collections will be suspended over the festive period from Monday 17 December and will resume on either the week commencing January 14 or January 21.

During this time, there will be a weekly black bin collection, but no green-lidded bins will be collected.

There will be no green or black bin or green box collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day.

Black bin collections for households that would normally receive a collection on Tuesday 25 December and Tuesday 1 January will be on Saturday 29 December 2007, when up to three additional sacks of rubbish will be taken if they are placed at the side of the wheeled bin.

Households that would normally have a refuse collection on Wednesday 26 December will have their refuse removed on Wednesday 2 January 2007, when up to four extra sacks will be taken.

The next green box collection for households whose normal collection falls on these days will be the following fortnight, as advised on collection calendars. Extra recycling will be taken if contained in plastic bags or boxes.

Please do not put Christmas cards or wrapping paper out for kerbside recycling.

Christmas cards and wrapping paper

Christmas cards and wrapping paper, which are not foil-based, can be placed in the green-lidded recycling wheelie bins for collection in January. Christmas trees can also be taken to designated recycling points, which will be listed in our Binnovation web pages in January.

The Council apologises for any inconvenience this disruption to normal services may cause and would like to take this opportunity to wish all High Peak residents a very Happy Christmas.
