High Peak Borough Council is inviting residents to take part in planning the future of the borough.
A discussion paper has been published called, 'Shaping the future of High Peak,' which asks residents specific questions about how they believe High Peak should develop.
This is the first step in preparing a new plan that will shape new development in the borough over the next 20 years. The new plan will be known as the Core Strategy, and is part of a series of planning documents being produced as part of the High Peak Local Development Framework.
The discussion paper will be used to gather residents' views and opinions about issues in the High Peak and how they might be addressed.
The discussion paper is split into different sections.
The discussion paper will guide the first of a series of consultations that will take place during the preparation of the new plan for the High Peak.
Councillor Tony Kemp, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Regeneration, said: "This is an excellent document, written in plain English and designed to stimulate peoples' thinking about the range of important community issues. It is an opportunity for everyone who lives, works and visits High Peak to have a say about how they think future development should be handled - please read it and make your views known to us; we really value your comments."
'Shaping the Future of High Peak' can be read on High Peak Borough Council's website using the link, www.highpeak.gov.uk/planning/localframework/CoreStrategy/. Comments about the discussion paper can be made online using the pages on this link.
Comments can also be made by post to: Hilary Senior, Principal Planning Policy Officer, High Peak Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Glossop, Derbyshire SK13 8AF, or by email to customer-services@highpeak.gov.uk.
