Community Fund Small Grants Pot: the clock is ticking!

Date: 08/11/2007

There is less than a month to go before the second round of applications for funding from High Peak Borough Council's small grant pot closes.

The closing date for the bid process for the small grants element of the Community Fund is Friday 30 November. Bids from voluntary and community organisations can be made on line by visiting our website and clicking on the 'Your Neighbourhood' page then 'community funding.' Alternatively, forms can be downloaded from the website and completed by hand and posted to the council.

Small grants are available for bids from voluntary organisations that require one-off, small amounts of money to support specific projects. The fund will normally consider bids of up to £500 per project.

Full details of how to apply and what sort of project can be funded are given in the guidance contained within the Community Fund Policy on the council's website. Paper copies of the policy and application forms can also be obtained by phoning Call High Peak on 0845 129 77 77.

Awards of £500 from the last round of bids, earlier this year, were made to 7 voluntary groups in September.

Councillor Andrew Bingham, Executive Member for Community and Social Development, said: "This fund continues to provide a great deal of help to voluntary organisations who need small amounts of money to help them in their work in the community - particularly amongst those who are vulnerable. I would encourage any group that meets our criteria to apply for funding."
