High Peak Borough Council is seeking residents' views on its draft Corporate Plan, 'Improving High Peak'.
The plan, which covers a five-year period (2008-2013), sets out the Council's priorities and how it intends to deliver them. These priorities are grouped as part of four key aims:
A thorough review of the Corporate Plan is one of the new Conservative administration's pledges, and this is why the Council is consulting widely on the draft Plan. As well as welcoming comments from residents, the Council is seeking the views of its partners, parish councils, various community groups, and its employees.
Councillor John Faulkner, Leader of the Council, said: "Improving the quality of life for everyone in the High Peak is the Council's most important ambition, and the Corporate Plan turns this ambition into action."
He went on to say: "I would encourage everyone to get involved in this consultation exercise, to ensure that the priorities for action reflect the hopes and needs of the whole community."
Residents who would like to comment on the draft plan can read it at www.highpeak.gov.uk/council/CorporatePlan/draft_2008.asp and submit their comments on-line. Alternatively they can obtain a paper copy of the plan from Council receptions or by ringing 0845 129 77 77.
