Children's swimming lessons are still available through December and early New Year at Buxton, New Mills and Glossop Pools.
Beginner's classes, which are suitable for children of school age, help to build confidence at first and then progress to learning recognised front and back strokes.
The lessons, which are provided by fully qualified Amateur Swimming Association swimming teachers, cost £48.00 for a twelve-week course.
In addition, specialist one-to-one tuition is also available at all 3 pools at a cost of £13.00 per lesson.
Councillor Andrew Bingham, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Social and Community Development, said: "The New Year is when we all make resolutions, some of which me manage to keep, now is a good time to start on your 2008 New Year's resolution early to getting the family fitter. If your children want to learn to swim, or improve their skills, make sure you book them on a course before the Christmas break or early New Year."
